Palace denies planeload of COVID positives arrive in Bacolod

“Fake news” was how Malacañang dismissed reports that a planeload of returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) recently arrived in Bacolod City from Manila.
The repatriation of LSI and Filipino workers Iloilo, Negros Occidental and Bacolod City has been suspended for two weeks effective August 8 to slow down the spread of Covid-19 in the areas.
In a Memorandum Circular No. 3 dated August 7, National Task Force Covid-19 chief and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said: “Hereby approved is the temporary suspension of repatriation of LSIs and ROFs to the Province of Negros Occidental, Bacolod City and Iloilo City for a period of 14 days starting August 8.”
