The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCCO) on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to allow live coverage of the Ampatuan massacre decision.
“We laud the partnership between PTV and the Supreme Court on the coverage of the proceedings toward the promulgation of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221’s on the Ampatuan massacre case, this 19th of December,” said PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar in a statement.
As the long-awaited verdict on the massacre case is “of paramount interest to the public and to the media,” Andanar, the co-chairperson of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security, stressed the need for a “complete, secure, and truthful coverage.”
“This integrated arrangement will ensure that everyone receives real-time and accurate information as the much-awaited verdict on the infamous event is watched worldwide,” he added.
Andanar also promised that PTV, as an attached agency to the PCOO, will exert its utmost effort in this live coverage to serve the public interest.
