A former document is no longer needed on the closure of all Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) gaming operations, according to Malacanang.
“Hindi kailangan. The directive of the President even in verbal is legal,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said during a media briefing on Monday.
Asked if such document is forthcoming, Panelo said: “As I said It’s legal. So, if it’s legal you don’t have to put down in writing.”
In a video message aired by the Presidential Communications Operations Office last Friday, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to shut down all gaming activities operated, licensed, and franchised by the PCSO. Duterte also directed the police and the military to remove all number games outlets from public places.
Panelo, meanwhile, said the President will discuss in detail the supposed irregularities inside the agency.
“The President in due time will tell the Filipino people of what and how this conspiracy has been in operation for so many years since his assumption of presidency,” he added.
