Malacañang does not see as “unpresidential” President Rodrigo Duterte’s latest tirade against Vice President Leni Robredo.
Duterte had earlier accused Robredo of lying about his whereabouts while typhoon “Ulysses” battered parts of Luzon and even threatened her possible presidential bid in 2022.
Asked if it was presidential for Duterte to lash out against Robredo, his spokesman Harry Roque said: “Alam niyo hindi naman plastic si Presidente at hindi naman niya ngayon lang ginawa yan. Consistent po ang behavior ng Presidente.”
Roque also cited the latest Pulse Asia survey showing 91 percent of Filipinos expressed their trust to Duterte.
“Ninety-one percent of the people have said that they trust and they believe that the President is performing well in his duties. Is it unpresidential? According to 91 percent of our people, no. According to 5 percent, including the Vice president, yes,” he added.
