Malacañang on Monday distanced itself from the quo warranto petition lodged by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) against the franchise of broadcast giant ABS-CBN.
Palagi niyang sinasabi ‘let the law take its course’,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in an interview over DZMM Teleradyo.
Panelo said that Duterte’s repeated tirades against the network’s franchise renewal had nothing to do with the OSG’s move.
Thats part of freedom of expression when you express your displeasure on something of which you are the subject of a fraud,” he said.
“You cannot deprive the President to express himself, pero walang kaugnay itong pettition ni [Solicitor General Jose Calida].”
