Barangay officials will still assist in the distribution of cash assistance to poor families affected by the coronavirus lockdown, according to Malacañang.

This, after President Rodrigo Duterte tapped the military and the police to distribute the second tranche of assistance for the qualified beneficiaries of the government’s Social Amelioration Program.

Transferring the SAP distribution to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, said Roque, will prevent irregularities committed by some local government officials.
