Palace plays down possible case of bubonic plague in China

The reported resurgence of bubonic plague should not be a cause of concern, Malacañang assured the public Thursday.
But, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that threats such as this are being taken seriously.
“Wag kayong mabahala kasi ang pagpasok ng mga dayuhan sa Pilipinas ay hindi pa pinapayagan ng malawakan. Case-to-case basis lang po,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online press briefing.
A suspected case of bubonic plague was earlier reported in China’s northern Inner Mongolia region.
Roque reiterated: “Sarado pa ating baorders bagamat pupuwede pong mag-request on an individual basis yung mga merong balidong dahilan para pumasok sa Pilipinas. So, sarado pa ang ating borders at walang dapat ikabahala.”
