Palace praises PH hosting of SEA Games: Wonderful job!

Malacañang on Thursday commended the Philippines’ hosting of the biennial Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this year, saying that everyone did a “wonderful job.”
The 30th Southeast Asian Games concluded on Wednesday night with a closing ceremony at the Athletics Stadium in New Clark City in Tarlac.
“All of you did a wonderful job giving pride and honor to your respective countries. Your very presence here alone means you are all winners,” said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a statement.
Panelo said the Palace was “happy” because all participating countries secured medals in the 2019 edition of the tournament.
“Congratulations as well to the members of the Philippine contingent for becoming the overall champion of this biennial regional sports event, with a record-breaking 149 gold medals, constituting a substantial part of the total 385 medals our country received,” according to him.
“We likewise witnessed harmony, camaraderie and sportsmanship prevailing among countries in Southeast Asia, not to mention the mesmerizing performances in the opening ceremonies and the jovial infectious mood that engulfed the thousands of attendees,” he also said.
During the closing ceremonies, the Philippines handed over the hosting choses of the 2021 SEA Games to Vietnam.
