Palace reiterates Duterte’s stance on Albayalde’s fate: Let Senate, DILG finish probe

Amid revelations against the Philippine National Philippines chief, Malacañang insisted Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte would await results of investigations by the Senate and Interior Secretary Eduardo Año before taking action on General Oscar Albayalde.
This, after retired General Rudy Lacadin claimed that Albayalde, who was also accused of protecting “ninja cops,” told him that he earned “a little” from the 2013 drug raid in Mexico, Pampanga.
“I don’t view anything. Di ba sinabi natin na, hayaan mo yung Senado na mag-imbestiga, magkaroon sila ng findings, hayaan mo si secretary of (Department of the Interior and Local Government) mag-imbestiga and then magkaroon siya ng findings, recommendations, the President will act on them,” Presidentialw Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters.
Panelo said he has not heard whether Duterte wants Albayalde to step down from his post.
“Wala. Wala akong narinig… Wala namang sinasabing bago si Presidente. Basta wala pang sinasabi si Presidente,” he added.
