Malacañang allayed fears over the cases of swine fever virus in the country, assuring the public that meat products can still be safely consumed.

“The DA (Department of Agriculture) said it is, and so it is,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Monday.

Panelo said the discovery of dozens of pig carcasses in Marikina River and Quezon City creek is being taken care of by the DA.

“I’m sure the Department of Agriculture will take care of that,” according to him.

“By this time, those areas have been informed what they should do relative to that,” he added.
