Palace slams Bernie Sanders for sharing unvalidated info: Shameful ka din!

Malacañang took a potshot at the United States Senator Bernie Sanders for calling out human rights abuses in the Philippines.
In a tweet last Friday, Sanders denounced the recent police repression of trade unionists as “a shameful attempt to silence people’s rights and freedoms.”
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo retorted that making unverified information public is equally “shameful.”
“Kasi yung mga sinasabi niya, inuulit niya lang ang mga sinasabi ng kritiko na pini-peddle naman sa mga foreign news agencies, na pini-print naman, na pinapaniwalaan niya naman,” the chief presidential legal counsel said in a radio interview on DZIQ Sunday.
Meanwhile, Panelo again defended the raids on progressive groups’ offices that resulted in the arrest of alleged leaders and members of militant groups
“Pag merong raid ang PNP ibig sabihin meron silang intelligence report na hindi gumagawa ng tama ang mga organisasyon na yan, na hindi tama at labag sa batas.
“Kung mali naman ang raid, they can always go to court and sue them,” he added.
