Palpak kasi gumawa! DMCI-Ecoland owners demand full refund from Consunjis
Unit owners of the Ecoland 4000 condominium building in Davao City are demanding a full refund from the Consunjis over the building’s collapse following an earthquake in October 2019.
James Patoc, a unit owner, shared their demand in a Facebook group for Verdon Parc condominium homeowners.
Verdon Parc is another condominium building built by D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) Homes in Davao City which sustained damage during the magnitude 6.5 earthquake that happened on October 31 last year.
“We will push for the immediate cash assistance for the displaced unit owners, computed retractively, and buyback option/full refund. We will also raise concerns for paying damages and reduction of the purchase cost, if possible,” Patoc said.
Patoc made the statement ahead of the Consunjis’ reported meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang on January 6, to which he was supposedly invited.
“Please intercede in prayers for us, and for our president Digong, may God give him the discernment and enlightenment to resolve our concerns. Let us pray for the Consunji management, that they will find it in their hearts to be responsible and just,” he said.
Duterte on Friday (January 10) threatened to stop DMCI from building new structures if it evades responsibility to the owners of Ecoland 4000.
“You know Consunji, you are already rich, and old like me. You have little time left…Stop f*cking the people,” Duterte told broadcaster Ted Failon in an exclusive interview.
Duterte didn’t say who he was referring to, but DMCI Homes’ parent company, DMCI Holdings, is led by bilyonaryo Isidro Consunji.
“If you do not come to terms with the people that you prejudiced, I will not allow you to even construct a building, not even a post because I will question the integrity of your company,” th President added.
