Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo believes that Filipinos are inconsistent in observing coronavirus (Covid-19) safety protocols.

In his online commentary show “Counterpoint” Saturday, Panelo said non-compliance with quarantine measures is a risk factor in the transmission of Covid-19.

“Hindi tayo consistent. Hindi tayo alert sa sarili natin. Kasi ho ‘yung ganoong pagkakataon, doon pumapasok ‘yung transmission ng virus,” according to the abogado.

Panelo said the government’s Covid-19 response could come to naught should people continue to resist necessary health measures.

“Iyan ho ang nagiging dahilan kung bakit hindi mawala-wala ang virus. Tayo ho ang nagdadala. Tayo ang magpapa-spread o magpapakalat,” he added.

As of April 17, the Philippines recorded a total of 926,052 Covid-19 cases, of which 203,710 are active cases and 15,810 have died.
