Panelo: Congress entitled to probe Michael Yang
By Prince Golez
Palace spokesperson Salvaor Panelo said Congress may investigate the alleged involvement of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang in the country’s illegal drug trade.
“Congress has the right to investigate,” said Panelo in a media briefing in Malacanang Friday.
The chief presidential legal counsel made the statement after Senator Leila de Lima filed Senate Resolution 1033, asking the Senate to conduct a “comprehensive probe” on Yang’s alleged drugs link.
Panelo, meanwhile, said that Yang has already been cleared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police.
“Di ba sinasabi nga nila baka ibang Michael Yang yata iyong sinasabi nung Acierto,” he added.
