Senator Francis Pangilinan will co-author a bill seeking to grant ABS-CBN network a new franchise for 25 years.
Pangilinan, in a Facebook post, has expressed support for the franchise bid of the network, hoping it would restore the jobs of displaced workers.
The media network shut down its free tv and radio stations last year after the expiry of its franchise. Its franchise renewal application was junked by a House committee last year.
Pangilinan pushed for the franchise renewal of the network, saying it was crucial to information dissemination especially during emergencies.

“Deserve nating lahat ang tamang impormasyon. Ibalik ang trabaho ng mga kawani ng ABS-CBN. Bigyan ng franchise ang ABS-CBN,” he said.
