PAO forensic pathologist claim 14-year-old died due to Dengvaxia
Public Attorneys Office (PAO) forensics expert Dr. Erwin Erfe said on Tuesday (July 14) another child who received shots of the Dengvaxia anti-dengue vaccine has passed away.
Erfe said the latest victim, whom he identified as Edwin Jan Bogonot, 14. of San Mateo, Rizal, passed away last July 11.
Meanwhile, Erfe assured that the PAO will continue to file charges against former and current health officials on behalf of the families of the victims which now reached 155 with the inclusion of Bogonot.
“Kasama ito sa ipa-file namin kasi ganoon din ang findings namin,” the forensics chief said.
At the request of the family, Erfe said his team conducted the autopsy of the Bogonot whose death certificate showed that his underlying cause of death was leukemia.
“Hindi ma-explain nung leukemia yung mga findings namin,” he pointed.
Erfe said their autopsy showed that Bogonot had multiple internal organs which had bleedings and enlargement which are among the adverse effects of Dengvaxia.
Bogonot had received shots of Dengvaxia on June 28, 2016 and on January 11, 2017 based on the vaccination card issued to the victim.
