Para iwas intriga? Duterte to stay in Davao on People Power anniversary
President Rodrigo Duterte will skip the celebration of the People Power Revolution’s 32nd anniversary on February 25, a member of the EDSA People Power Commission said.
Pastor Boy Saycon said Duterte will be in Davao City over the weekend.
He (Duterte) will celebrate it the way he remembered celebrating it with his mother in Davao City,” Saycon told reporters Wednesday (February 21).
The 1986 People Power Revolution overthrew the dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
In the spirit of inclusivity, the commission has invited politikos such as Vice President Leni Robredo, and former Presidents Benigno Aquino III and Fidel Ramos, to attend the celebration of the People Power Revolution’s anniversary.
Aquino has yet to confirm his attendance while Ramos will lead the wreath laying at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Saycon said a flag raising ceremony will follow the mass that will be held in the morning of February 25.
At least 25,000 government employees have been tapped to help out in the event, he added.
