Para mahirapang kumawala: DOJ places De Lima in BI lookout bulletin
The Department of Justice has placed Senator Leila de Lima in the Bureau of Immigration’s lookout bulletin in connection with her alleged involvement in the drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Aside from De Lima, the lookout bulletin also covers former DOJ undersecretary Francisco Baraan III, former Bureau of Corrections Director Franklin Bucayu, De Lima’s former security aide Joenel Sanchez, her former driver and alleged lover Ronnie Dayan and Presidential Abti-Organized Crime Commission executive director Reginald Villasanta.
Inclusion in the lookout bulletin means all immigration officers will have to coordinate closely with the DOJ and National Bureau of Investigation regarding any attempt by De Lima and her companions to leave the country.
The DOJ said the senator should be included in the lookout list since there is a chance she might leave the country and be out of Philippine authorities’ reach “considering the gravity of the possible commission of any offense.”
De Lima has repeatedly denied any involvement in the drug trade inside the NBP.
