Parang wala sa Bilibid! Antonio Sanchez poses for pic with daughter
Speculation persists that convicted rapist and killer Antonio Sanchez is getting a free pass from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) because of a photo that his daughter posted on Facebook three months ago.
Calauan Councilor Amty Sanchez Alcid posted a photo of her father on Facebook on May 10 for his birthday.
The photo showed Sanchez in a white polo with the sleeves rolled up. He wore a face mask.
Based on the photo, the Sanchezes were in an airconditioned area. There were drinks on the table, including a Coca Cola in can.
Amty confirmed the man in the photo was her father in the caption of her post, which was obtained by Politiko.
“Tunay na ako ay pinagpala dahil ako ay anak ng pinakamahusay na alkalde bg Calauan Mayor Antonio Sanchez. Mula ng ako ay maliit hanggang sa kasalukuyang panahon ay siya ang aking tinitingala at siya ang aking IDOL,” she said.
Amty said she idolizes her father for being a good partner, parent and politiko.
“Ikaw ang nagturo at nagpamalas sa amin kung pano magmahal ng bukal sa loob, kung pano po tumulong ng walang hinihintay na kapalit, at ikaw ang taong lahat ng tao ay pantay pantay ang iyong pagtingin,” she said.
Amty’s photo with her father can no longer be found on her Facebook page.
Sanchez was sentenced to spend seven terms of reclusion perpetua or 40-year imprisonment over the rape and killing of Eileen armenta, a student at the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1993.
He was also found guilty of killing Allan Gomez, Sarmenta’s companion.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra earlier said Sanchez may be released soon because of a Supreme Court ruling allowing for the retroactive application of a new law for recomputing an inmate’s good conduct time allowance (GCTA).
Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon, however, said Sanchez may not be released soon because of his involvement in illegal activities, such as the possession of illegal drugs and contraband items, including a flat screen TV and airconditioning unit.
