Parehong gusto! #OustLeni2020 trends on Twitter— with both DDS, Yellows tweeting
A call to oust Vice President Leni Robredo trended on Twitter Saturday (February 1), a day after a similar demand for President Rodrigo Duterte’s removal was made.
The hashtag, #OustLeni2020 became, at one point, the third trending topic on Twitter with close to 35,000 tweets.
Interestingly, it wasn’t only Duterte supporters who used the hashtag, but also those allied with Robredo.
Supporters of the Vice President wanted her “ousted” and assume the presidency.
Netizen @arestherielle said: “YES TO #OUSTLENI2020 REMOVE HER AS A VICE PRESIDENT!! THEN MAKE HER THE PRESIDENT! And that’s the tweet.”
Twitter user @pentacle shared a similar view: “we need to #OUSTLENI2020 as the vice president of the philippines and make her the president instead.”
Netizen @kipoebanda said: “I too support #OUSTLENI2020 as VP and making her replace the president.”
Twitter user @ReignGwapito said Robredo may be handling the 2019 novel coronavirus threat bettr if she were president.
“#OUSTLENI2020 as VP and #OustDuterte as President. Make Leni the President. Who knows the urgency of #coronavirus and understands the public health concern,” he said.
Duterte supporters, meanwhile, are adamant that Robredo must be removed as Vice President.
Twitter user @pinoytapsilog said: “Sure, yellows can trend a topic they want on socmed. They have the support of PR operators and well-funded propagandists like Jover Laurio. Problem is, they think trending is sufficient to make their bets win in elections or unseat a hugely popular PHL President. #OUSTLENI2020”
Netizen @gelyn_rubi tweeted: “#OUSTLENI2020 JUST BECAUSE YOU FOOLED FILIPINOS TO OUTRAGE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT FOR NOT IMPLEMENTING THE TRAVEL BAN, DOESN’T MEAN U WON THE HEARTS OF THE MAJORITY FOR THEM TO OUST THE PRES. LP DESERVES THE HATE FOR USING THIS NCOV OUTBREAK FOR THEIR POLITICAL AGENDA 💩”
Twitter user @jesseprawl said: “There are many legal ways to #OUSTLENI2020 from the political landscape. Rendering her irrelevant and disabling her politically without the use of violence or illegal shortcuts can be done. Remember, she’s facing cases of sedition due to the Bikoy video and an electoral case.”
