Party list coalition to wait for Duterte Youth’s qualified nominee, says Romero

The Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) said it will await who will be recognized by the poll body as the qualified nominee of the embattled party-list group Duterte Youth.
“PCFI shall wait for the COMELEC’s decision on who to accept as Duterte Youth’s qualified and valid nominee for the 18th Congress,” said PCFI President and 1Pacman Rep. Mikee Romero.
Romero said Duterte Youth, one of the 51 party-list organizations proclaimed by Commission on Elections (COMELEC) enbanc last May 22, has already accepted the said group as a member of their bloc even though its controversial first nominee Ronald Cardema has been disqualified as its substitute nominee.
COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon recently got irked upon learning that Cardema continues to attend gathering and meetings of PCFI even though his nomination was already cancelled after being disqualified by the poll body.
Aside from being its first nominee, Cardema also chairs his controversial party-list group.
Romero said the party-list bloc will respect and recognize who ever will be declared as valid nominee of Duterte Youth.
“The PCFI will accept whoever COMELEC approves as Duterte Youth’s valid nominee,” said Romero.
Despite his disqualification, Cardema’s name is once again included in the new list of nominees filed on Thursday by Duterte Youth—being its first nominee anew.
