PCSO’s Garma stood up 2 STL operators offering advice to curb corruption
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office president Royina Garma snubbed a meeting sought by two small town lottery (STL) operators arranged by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
In an interview with ANC’s Karen Davila, Panelo said the two STL operators came to his office seeking to talk to him about fast-tracking the reopening of STL which President Rodrigo Duterte declared illegal in July 27.
“There were some STL operators wanting to volunteer information on what they know about corruption and what they would suggest in order to curb corruption,” said Panelo.
“We waited for PCSO Chair Garma pero mayroon pa siyang ibang meeting… mahaba yata meeting niya with another public official kaya hindi natuloy. So, ni-reset na lang,” Panelo added.
Panelo could not name the two STL operators in his office (he said one them was a Santos). Panelo hinted that STL was apparently not on Duterte’s to-do list. He reiterated Duterte’s condition on the reopening of STL: “If you can convince me that there will be no corruption, I will lift it.”
