PDEA chief Aquino opposes sharing narco list with Robredo: Wala siyang karapatan!
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino sees no need for Vice President Leni Robredo to have a list of high profile targets in the drug war even if she is co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).
In an interview over TV5 Friday (November 15), Aquino said having the list of high-profile targets is beyond Robredo’s mandate.
“Medyo hindi kami pumapayag dun kasi in the first place, chairman lang siya ng isang committee. It is beyond her mandate na para humingi ng kung ano-anong listahan na tingin ko walang purpose ang listahan na yun,” he said.
The PDEA chief, who holds the same position as Robredo at ICAD, said he heard the Vice President asking for the list of high-profile drug war targets during her meeting with the committee’s law enforcement cluster Thursday (November 14).
Aquino expressed doubt whether Robredo could investigate the personalities on the list, considering her position.
He said he does not know why Robredo would want the highly confidential list.
“Sa palagay ko hindi nararapat na kumuha ng listahan unless may rason para kunin ‘yung watchlist ng drug addicts at high-value targets. I don’t know kung ano ang reason niya,” Aquino said.
