The coronavirus pandemic requires government officials to step up and address the crisis.
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla said the country needs leaders, not politicians, as the coronavirus outbreak continues to cause hardship and claim lives.
The nation must be steered into the “right direction” to recover from the pandemic, the governor said.
“The only thing that matters is that we put the country in the right direction to recover. People are cynical and fast losing hope. Now is the time for leaders and NOT politicians,” Remulla wrote on social media accounts.
He proposed the government should accelerate testing and tracing efforts as well as medical care.
Jobs and transportation assistance should also be extended to stranded persons as well as displaced Filipinos. There must also be a “rational educational plan,” Remulla said.
“We are in crisis. People are having a very difficult time. People are suffering. People are dying,” he said.
