Phisgoc-Cayetano palpak na naman! Thai women’s volleyball team stranded at NAIA
Logistical concerns of foreign athletes continue to mar the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games despite the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee’s assurance that kinks have been ironed out.
A member of the Thai women’s volleyball team tweeted Sunday (December 1) that she and her teammates are stranded at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Photos shared by Pleumjit Thinkaow showed some of her teammates slumped against the glass wall at NAIA, while some slept on the floor with their bags as pillows.
Pleumjit said: “Still waiting at the airport (grimacing emoji).” Her tweet was sent at 3:03 p.m.
As of 7:45 p.m. Sunday, there’s no word if members of the Thai women’s volleyball team were already picked up from the airport.

Last week, football teams of Myanmar and Timor-Leste also complained of the long wait they had to endure at NAIA before being brought to the hotel.
House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, Phisgoc’s chairman, apologized for the glitches and vowed to address them.
The Thai national women’s volleyball team is considered a force to reckon with in Southeast Asia. The Philippine women’s volleyball team lost to them at the ASEAN Grand Prix held in Laguna last October.
