Pinaghandaan pa nilangaw lang! MMDA’s Celine Pialago snickers at small crowd in anti-Duterte rally
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago couldn’t help but laugh at the poor attendance in an anti-Duterte rally held three days before the anniversary of the People Power Revolution.
Pialago shared on her Facebook account a screenshot of the MMDA’s Facebook post Saturday (February 22), which showed a thin crowd gathering at the People Power monument along EDSA.
Based on the MMDA’s report, there were about 200 people at the rally as of 5:40 p.m.
Pialago said MMDA’s preparation for the rally appeared to be for naught since only a few protesters showed up.
“Sayang naman preparation namin for this ‘rally’ naglagay pa kami ng barriers, tapos pumasok pa ako ng weekend. [four laughing crying emojis],” she said, adding the hashtag #peace to her post.
Malacañang has said that President Rodrigo Duterte will likely skip events commemorating the People Power Revolution’s 34th anniversary on February 25.
