Ping has words of encouragement for ABS-CBN: Babangon at babangon!
Babangon uli at babangon.
These were the words of encouragement Sen. Panfilo Lacson extended on Saturday to broadcasting network ABS-CBN, a day after it failed to get a 25-year franchise from the House of Representatives.
“Sa ABS-CBN naman, you fall today but you will rise tomorrow. Ganoon lang kasimple yan,” Lacson said in an interview on Abante Radyo Tabloidista.
But in the meantime, he said there is not much else to do but respect the decision of the House panel in rejecting the network’s application for a franchise.
Under the 1987 Constitution, he said the House has the authority to approve a legislative franchise.
He added that since the application was turned down at the House, it cannot go to the Senate where senators could take action.
“Pero dahil nag-exercise sila ng kanilang duty under the Constitution, para sa akin irespeto na rin natin yan. Anuman ang dahilan nila mapa-selfish ang dahilan, talagang mandate nila at authority nila yan under the Constitution na mag-approve or disapprove ng application for legislative franchise.
I’m sure babangon uli at babangon,” he added.
