Ping: ‘Nothing new’ with Duterte warning to have troublemakers shot
It’s exaggerated and harsh. So what else is new?
Sen. Panfilo Lacson raised this question Thursday after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to order the shooting of troublemakers during the enhanced community quarantine.
“Definitely, the President’s warning to have ‘troublemakers’ during the enhanced community quarantine shot was exaggerated and harsh. But coming from this President, what else is new?” Lacson said in a statement.
On Wednesday evening, Duterte made a televised address to the nation where he warned he would have troublemakers shot if they violated the enhanced community quarantine.
At least 20 residents in Quezon City were arrested for gathering and demanding aid from the government. They were eventually dispersed by police.
