Ping wishes Morales well in fight vs cancer
Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Saturday wished Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) president Ricardo Morales well in fighting cancer.
Lacson said it is unfortunate that the corruption issues against PhilHealth came out at a time Morales’ health is at a low point.
“I wish PhilHealth President-CEO Morales well in his fight against the Big C. In all sincerity, I join his family in praying for his recovery. It is unfortunate that these new corruption issues have exploded at a time when his health condition is at a low point,” he said.
Earlier, Morales informed the Senate Committee of the Whole he could not attend the Aug. 11 hearing on corruption at the PhilHealth.
He said he was advised by his doctor to take a leave of absence due to lymphoma.
Morales is among the PhilHealth officials facing a Senate probe over rampant corruption at the agency. Morales assumed the post last year.
