President Rodrigo Duterte gave a house and lot to the class valedictorians of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
During the simultaneous commencement exercises of the PMA and PNPA Friday, Duterte announced that Cadet First Class Gemalyn Sugui and Fire Cadet Lei Anne Banico Palermo would each receive a house and lot worth P2 million for topping their graduation class.
“Puro babae. ‘Yung boyfriend na katabi mo senyasan mo lang na hindi sila pwede pumasok ng bahay na lasing, nagloloko, nagbabae. This will be, sabihin mo, akin ito at ‘wag kang palaboy-laboy diyan,” the President said.
Sugui, who hails from Echague, Isabela, earlier earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management Economics from the University of the Philippines Baguio. She bested 196 graduates of Masidlawin Class of 2020.
Zamboangueña Palermo, on one hand, topped the 277 graduates of Mandayug Class of 2020. She will be joining the Bureau of Fire Protection.
