President Benigno Aquino III is set to leave today for a two-day working visit to Singapore, where he will also be the keynote speaker for the World in 2015 gala dinner hosted by The Economist.
It will be the first time a Philippine president will keynote the gala dinner since it began in 2009. The high-profile event is attended by senior executives from the government, academe and business.
Aquino is expected to highlight in his speech the role of the peace process in Mindanao for achieving inclusive growth for the Philippines, as well as his vision for Southeast Asia.
Aside from attending the gala dinner, the President will also have meetings with Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and the overseas Filipino community.
