Powerhouse! Sara Duterte’s Hugpong forges alliance with Garcia’s 1-CEBU

MUNICIPALITY OF LILOAN, Cebu – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) on Friday formally forged apact with 1-CEBU party of Cebu 2nd district Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia to boost chances of their candidates’ victory in the upcoming midterm elections.
During HNP’s campaign sortie in Liloan, Cebu, the presidential daughter’s political entity signed and exchanged letters of support for mutual cooperation and partnership with the provincial party of the Garcia clan.
Garcia, chairperson of 1-CEBU, said her party has fielded candidates in all of the towns and cities of the vote-rich province who will rally support for the HNP bets.
“We have fielded full slates in all of the town and cities of the province of Cebu and in all of the seven congressional districts. You can see we have a very very strong candidates, some are incumbents, some are very very strong challengers,” the former Cebu governor said.
The Cebuana solon, who i running for governor in the May polls, said 1-CEBU was commited to secure a landslide victory for the senatorial candidates endorsed by the administration, adding that the alliance was beneficial for both sides.
“We are promising, we are committing ourselves now the slate that is supported now by HNP because know all of these senatorial candidates are strong supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte,” she said.
Cebu delivered close to 1.6 million votes to Mayors Sara’s father, President Rodrigo Duterte during the last presidential elections.
“Cebu delivered 1.4-million votes (margin) over you know who. Cebu (Province) again will show that through 1-CEBU—eh talagang nagkakaisa dito eh—we will be able deliver and manifest once again our strong support for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte through the very strong partnership now with HNP and 1-CEBU,” Garcia said.
Cebu has a total of 3,082,621 voters or around five percent of the 61,843,750 registered voters in the country based on the data base of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
Prior to the signing of partnership, Mayor Sara endorsed Garcia’s as her choice to lead the province of Cebu for the next three years.
