Vice President Leni Robredo has expressed readiness to become president following President Rodrigo Duterte’s threat to declare a revolutionary government.
Robredo’s abogado, Romulo Macalintal, said she will become president in case Duterte declares a revolutionary government since it will be tantamount to divesting himself of the presidency.
Duterte on Thursday (April 4) threatened to suspend the writ of habeas corpus and arrest all of his critics after some lawmakers urged the administration to tread carefully in reviewing the contracts that the government signed with foreign entities.
The President then warned that he would declare a “revolutionary war” if he were pushed to a corner, and topped it with a threat to declare a revolutionary government.
