The Presidential Security Group (PSG) has suspended the conduct of Malacañang Museum tours as a precaution against a deadly respiratory virus from China.
“While crafting protocols for visitors in the palace, PSG has recommended to IHAO the indefinite suspension of museum ang palace tour,” said PSG Commander General Jose Eriel Niembra.
“This is a preemptive measure to ensure that the seat of government is secured from this biological threat,” Niembra added.
The PSG chief also said that all PSG personnel on duty at Malacanang complex are required to wear face mask to protect against the spread of the coronavirus.
The Department of Health on Thursday confirmed the country’s first case of coronavirus in Metro Manila. The patient, a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan City, China, is currently isolated in San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
