Malacañang maintained that returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are being treated like VIPs, denying claims that they are neglected by the government.

In a virtual presser Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque dismissed reports of Filipino repatriates sleeping under a bridge near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City due to limited number of commercial flights as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Roque pointed out that stranded OFWs are billeted in hotels and provided free transportation.
