Pwede na umuwi! Another Makati court doesn’t issue arrest warrant vs. Trillanes
No arrest warrant and hold departure order (HDO) has been issued against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Judge Elmo Alameda of Makati City regional trial court (RTC) Branch 150 conducted a hearing on Friday (Sept. 14) over the motion of the Department of Justice (DOJ) which sought for the issuance of an arrest warrant and HDO against the senator.
Instead of ruling on the motion, Alameda issued an order which granted “the prosecution request that it be given five days from today to file its reply to the comment and opposition of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.”
“Thereafter, the incidents shall be deemed submitted for resolution,” the judge said.
The DOJ filed the motion after President Rodrigo Duterte issued Proclamation No. 572 which declared as void the amnesty given to Trillanes over his involvement in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
Alameda is handling the rebellion case against Trillanes concerning the Manila Peninsula siege.
