Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ came to the defense of his long time friend, President Rodrigo Duterte, amid criticism on his nearly two-week absence as the country experiences another surge in COVID-19 cases.
In a video posted by Sonshine Media Network on Tuesday (April 13), Quiboloy said Duterte’s critics appear to have unreasonable demands.
Quiboloy said Duterte accomplished a lot in his five years as President, including modernizing the armed forces and spearheading big ticket infrastructure projects.
Duterte said Monday (April 12) that he intentionally disappeared from public view to annoy his critics.
Pagka kinakalkal mo ako lalo akong—‘yong parang bata. Pagka lalo mo akong kinakantyawan eh mas lalo akong gagana,” he said in a televised public address.
