Rape-slay convict Sanchez deserves to die in jail – Locsin
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. is not amenable to the proposed release of former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez from jail.
“No, he deserves to die in his cell,” Locsin tweeted reacting to a news article reporting that Senator Bato dela Rosa said Sanchez deserved a second chance.
Sanchez, sentenced to seven terms of reclusion perpetua in 1995, will reportedly be likely be released from the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP). He was convicted for the rape and murder of a student Eileen Sarmenta and the murder of her boyfriend Allan Gomez in 1993.

The law is wrong; the Supreme Court was wrong. He got seven life sentences. True law favoring a convict has retrospective effect on his sentence. That spares him having to finish one of 7 life sentences. He has 6 to go or 200 years more. Period. https://t.co/U5yTUwN9QP— Teddy Locsin Jr. (@teddyboylocsin) August 21, 2019
