Rapists will be rapists: Ben Tulfo attacks Frankie Pangilinan for saying rape ain’t women’s fault

Broadcaster Ben Tulfo doesn’t agree with the view of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s daughter, Frankie, that rape doesn’t depend on how a woman dresses up.

In a tweet posted Sunday (June 14), Tulfo said a rapist’s desire to commit crime “will always be there.”

“Hija @kakiep83, a rapist or a juvenile sex offender’s desire to commit a crime will always be there. All they need is an opportunity, when to commit the crime. Sexy ladies, careful with the way you dress up! You are inviting the beast,” he said.

Frankie called out the Philippine National Police in a tweet Saturday (June 13) after the Lucban Police Station came under fire over a Facebook post that advised women not to wear short clothing.

“STOP TEACHING GIRLS HOW TO DRESS?? TEACH PEOPLE NOT TO RAPE,” she said.

Aside from the tweet, Tulfo called Frankie a “wannabe smart aleck” on Facebook using the account of his show, Bitag Live.

“Hija, iba mag-isip ang mga manyakis at mga rapists. Hindi natin sila matuturuan at mababago ang kanilang pagnanasa at pagiging kriminal,” he said.

Tulfo said the least women could do was not to “provoke” rapists by shunning clothing that could entice them.

“Ang tanging magagawa ay manamit ng tama. Huwag nating pukawin ang pagnanasa nila. Ito ang iyong magagawa. Bago natin sila baguhin, baguhin muna natin ang sarili’t pag-iisip natin. Gets mo Hija?” he said.
