Recto, Pangilinan slam ‘cowards’ behind Abante arson attack: Takot mabisto ang kalokohan!
Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto and Senator Francis Pangilinan have condemned the arson attack on the tabloid Abante’s printing plant in Parañaque City as a crime committed by “cowards.”
In a statement Tuesday (September 10), Recto said those behind the torching of the printing plant are afraid of truth.
Pangilinan, meanwhile, said the attack was clearly a form of harassment.
“Ito ay tahasang pag-atake at tangkang pagbusal sa kalayaan sa pamamahayag,” he said.
Four hooded men forcibly entered Abante’s printing plant in Parañaque City between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Monday (September 9) by overpowering the unarmed security guard.
The men doused the place with gasoline and set it on fire. They fled immediately on motorcycles.
Recto and Pangilinan both urged authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and ensure the masterminds are brought to justice.
