Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has warned about the supposed imminent downfall of President Duterte.

A known critic of the administration, Trillanes vowed to lead efforts to make sure Duterte lands in jail after his six-year presidency. Duterte loses his immunity from suit when he steps down as the country’s leader.

The former senator made the comment after Duterte advised the voters against his supposed comeback in the 2022 elections. Duterte said people should be “careful” of Trillanes since “he will sell you to the devil.”

“Kapag yan ang nakaupo, patay… Walang hiya ‘yan,” Duterte said about Trillanes.

Trillanes brushed aside Duterte’s latest rant. He turned the tables on Duterte, saying the outgoing president seemed to be scared.

“Kitang kita ang takot sa mga pananalita ni duterte,” he said.

“Relax lang sya. Tutukan lang nya ang vaccine rollout. Next year pa naman namin sya ipapakulong,” said Trillanes.
