Rename DOH to ‘Department of Magic,’ Hilbay suggests
Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay has proposed a new name for the Department of Health (DOH) after performing a supposed vanishing act in terms of the country’s coronavirus cases.
“The Department of Health should be renamed The Department of Magic,” Hilbay tweeted.
The former government official also called for the resignation of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III over the latest coronavirus data. “ALSO, #DuqueResign,” he said.
The DOH reported 38,089 recoveries on Thursday, bringing the total to 65,078. The increase in recoveries is a result of the DOH’s “mass recovery” adjustment where all mild and asymptomatic cases have been re-tagged as recovered.
The country also recorded 3,954 new infections on Thursday, the single biggest day record.
The nationwide tally now stands at 89,374, including 22,327 active cases.
The Department of Health should be renamed The Department of Magic.
