After a dozen congressmen decided to part ways with President Duterte’s primary political entity, the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP) party will most likely undergo a reorganization anytime this year.
PDP Laban President Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said he will listen listen to “the voice of their members” if they are for leadership change in the administration party.
“Definitely there will be some changes,” said Pimentel.
“It’s about time PDP Laban will follow its Constitution and we will call for a national assembly (of our members),” he added.
Pimentel said they will first assess the membership database before calling for a national assembly within 2019.
Pimentel stressed that the party reorganization has been “long programmed” in their pipeline, adding that it was only postponed since it was overtaken by the campaign season following its successful run during last May’s midterm elections.
“Ako mismo nagsasabi nun na the party must be professionally run and it must follow its constitution,” said Pimentel.
