Robredo dines with some favorite people amid Bikoy saga
After rejecting allegations she was part of an ouster plot against President Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo had a fun night on the town with some friends.
In a Facebook post, Robredo shared a photo having dinner with some “favorite people” including fellow Liberal Party stalwarts Senators Francis Pangilinan and Bam Aquino.
“Rare evening with some of my favourite people. Thank you, Gabby and Lia, for the invite,” the veep wrote on Facebook Thursday night.
Earlier, Robredo belied the allegations of Peter Advincula that the Liberal Party was involved in a plot to oust President Duterte via the release of the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos. Advincula claimed to be Bikoy who tagged the President’s family and allies for alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the video series.
“Iyong accusations na iyon, dahil hindi totoo, handa akong humarap sa kahit anong forum, handa akong humarap sa kahit anong imbestigasyon, kasi panatag iyong kalooban ko sa katotohanan,” said Robredo, also chair of the Liberal Party.
“I will never be part of any destabilization. Parati ko naman itong sinasabi, na iyong pagpasok ko sa pulitika, aksidente. Parati kong sinasabi na iyong presidency, destiny iyon—hindi siya napaplano, hindi siya napa-plot, kasi kung para sa iyo iyon, ibibigay iyon,” she said.
Pangilinan recently resigned as Liberal Party president over the crushing defeat of Otso Diretso in the senatorial polls. Robredo however rejected his resignation.
Aquino, on the other hand, lost his reelection bid, placing 14th with more than 14 million votes.
