Robredo doesn’t consider herself back in Cabinet: Wala akong posisyon!
Vice President Leni Robredo doesn’t consider herself as a Cabinet member again after accepting her designation as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).
In an interview at the sidelines of a visit to Rizal Thursday (November 7), Robredo said she couldn’t be called a Cabinet member since her position is non-existent.
“Actually, that was part of the discussion whether I should accept or not, kasi maraming kumukuwestiyon sa legality ng pag-appoint sa akin, kasi dinesignate ako sa isang non-existent position. Pero iyong sa akin, sa akin, bahala na kayo mag-usap sa mga legality, pero sa akin iyong mahalaga iyong trabaho,” she said.
Citing Executive Order No. 15 issued in 2017, Robredo’s spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez, said the Vice President will not have real powers in her new job since the position of ICAD co-chair was non-existent.
Robredo, however, is unfazed by the supposed legal questions hounding her post. She said she just wants to do her job.
“Huwag nang pagdebatehan kung ano pa. Kung ano iyong makakabuti sa kampanya, gawin na natin,” she said.
Even though Robredo doesn’t consider herself a Cabinet member, she said she is willing to go to Cabinet meetings if invited by President Rodrigo Duterte.
