Robredo says Bongbong makes PET look bad with try to annul votes in Mindanao: Kasalanan niyo mali kayo ng diskarte!
Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is trying to diminish the credibility of the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), by seeking to annul the election results for Vice President in the provinces of Lanao Del Sur, Basilan, and Maguindanao, Vice President Leni Robredo said.
In an interview in Camarines Norte Saturday (October 19), Robredo said it was clear from the initial recount of votes for Marcos’ poll protest that she won the 2016 race.
She noted that it was Marcos, not her, who chose the provinces of Camarines Sur, Negros Oriental and Iloilo as the pilot provinces where votes for vice president will be counted again.
“Kaya nga humihingi sila ng tatlong additional provinces kasi kung sila iyong lumamang dito, hindi na sila nangangailangan na magdagdag pa ng areas. So para bahiran nila ng pagdududa iyong Supreme Court, kasalanan nila iyon. Parang ang pinapalabas nila ngayon, dahil talo sila sa recount, ginagawa pa nilang kaduda-duda iyong Presidential Electoral Tribunal when in fact, mayroon silang sariling watchers doon,” Robredo said.
Marcos had asked the PET to annul the votes in the three Mindanao provinces due to terrorism, intimidation, harassment, and allegations that ballots had been pre-shaded.
Voting 11-2, the PET agreed to release the report on the initial recount of ballots in the pilot provinces and require the camps of Robredo and Marcos to comment.
The tribunal also asked both camps to comment on Marcos’ wish to annul the votes for vice president in the three Mindanao provinces.
