Robredo to appoint new PNP chief? Palace: Kalokohan!

Malacañang rejected the idea of giving Vice President Leni Robredo the power to appoint the next Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said letting Robredo choose the replacement for General Oscar Albayalde is a “crazy” idea.
“Kalokohan yun… Masyado silang maraming hinihingi. Pinagbigyan na nga,” the chief presidential legal counsel said.
Last October 31, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Robredo’s appointment as co-chair of the anti-illegal drugs committee.
She will serve as the government’s anti-drug czar until June 30, 2022
“Tanggapin na niya iyan kasi, pagkakataon na nya. Kung ako sa kanya, welcome naman sya sa Cabinet, tanggapin na niya,” Panelo said.
