Romero: Datol was a ‘determined advocate for poor, marginalized’
Deputy Speaker and 1-Pacman party-list Rep. Mikee Romero, president of the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc., expressed his sympathies with the family of Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr., who died early Monday.
“I express my sincere condolences to the family of Congressman Francisco Datol Jr who passed away earlier today,” Romero said.
“My sympathies also to the Senior Citizen Party-list whose officers and members have been the driving force behind Congressman Datol’s strong efforts to push legislation for the welfare of seniors all over our country,” he added.
Romero said: “We lost a determined advocate for the poor and marginalized, an advocacy we share with the Senior Citizen Party-list.”
He said his group would welcome the Senior Citizens party-list’s second nominee who would be replacing Datol.
“As 1-Pacman Representative, Deputy Speaker, and President of the Party-list Coalition in Congress, we will welcome the second nominee who will inevitably take the place of Congressman Datol here in Congress,” Romero added.
