Ronnie Nathanielsz to Ateneo, DLSU bosses: Don’t mix politics and sports you idiots!

Just leave politics at the door.

Sports analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz has frowned on attempts by two universities to mix sports and politics when they launched a black protest in a basketball game last Sunday.

The protest initiated by Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University officials was aimed to denounce the extrajudicial killings and proposed burial of the late President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. The protest however turned out to be a slight dud as many spectators chose to wear their school colors during the game.

“Ateneo & La Salle hierachy asked fans to wear black in protest against some of perceived wrongs. Don’t mix politics & sports you idiots!” Nathanielsz tweeted.
