Close to three years after losing in the 2016 presidential race, former senator Mar Roxas admitted he was still paying off loans he got from relatives for his candidacy.
In an interview over dzMM radio Tuesday (January 15), Roxas said some of his family members do not want to see him anymore since he’s running for senator in the 2019 polls.
“Nagbabayad utang pa ako eh. ‘Yung pamilya ko ayaw na akong harapin eh,” he said on the “Ikaw Na Ba?” telecast in response to the question on how much he spent on his presidential bid.
Pressed on how much he’s willing to shell out to win as senator, Roxas said he will only spend within his means.
However, he noted that his family is wealthy so he can ask his relatives for money.
The former senator confirmed he has been airing ads in a bid to introduce himself to voters ahead of the campaign season.
So kaya itong Enero ay napagpasiyahan ko na at least magpalabas ng pagpapakilala or magpakilala ulit,” he said.
